50 Track explosives found in Northampton

A controlled explosion was carried out after Sonik and his friends who had been magnet fishing pulled up 52 old railway explosives from the Grand Union Canal.

It started off with a BBC Radio interview in the dark morning and we were finding these track detonators live on air.

Police were alerted to the finds off Towcester Road, Northampton, at 09:50 GMT.

An Army bomb disposal team conducted the explosion at Far Cotton recreation ground during the afternoon.

So then we ended up in all the local and national newspapers that night, what an adventure.
