MAGNET

Ranging from 200kg pull to 1800kg pull, make sure you get the right strength magnet for you. Using thread lock on your eyebolt is important as you don’t want it to undo and come off in the water.

GRAPPLE HOOK

Using a grapple is handy when pulling in trolleys, bikes and weird stuff like this that often falls off the magnet.

ROPE

A good, strong rope is a must on your magnet and grapple. Rated higher than the pull strength on you magnet would be a good idea. 20m is sufficient, but 30m would be better.

BUCKET

We use 3 buckets, the biggest one for small scrap, crud and shrapnel, the middle sized one for trash and recyclables, and a small one with a rope attached to fill up with water to rinse down the path after we have finished.

NITRILE GLOVES

We use these nitrile gloves underneath our tough gloves as extra protection and to keep our hands dry and clean.

H FRAME

h frame

These are awesome! Wrap your rope around them for a tangle free rope. One on your magnet and on your grapple is handy.

ASCENDER

Whether stuck on the sides or something heavy in the water, use this to avoid rope burn and aid you in pulling the rope.

RUBBER MALLET

Great for helping to get items off your magnet without the bother of it sticking to your magnet like a regular mallet/hammer would. Comes on handy when two magnets are stuck together.

TOUGH GLOVES

Water resistant and tough, but thin enough to still be able to grab and feel things, are the main criteria when looking for gloves.

LITTER PICKER

A regular trash grabber is essential for grabbing floating rubbish and also when litter picking the area.

MULTI TOOL

Cutting fishing line? Undoing bike wheels? Or anything else. These are handy to have on you.

PLASTIC SCRAPER

Good for cleaning shrapnel and crud off the magnet. Keep it clean for the next throw!

CORDLESS GRINDER

Essential for cutting up larger items of scrap into manageable pieces.

RATCHET STRAP

When your magnet gets stuck or is on a heavy item a ratchet strap is invaluable for getting your magnet back.

RATCHET WINCH

The same as the ratchet strap but with added extra muscle!

TOOLBOX

Great for keeping your magnet and other equipment tidy and portable.

WET WIPES

Does what it says on the tin! Handy for cleaning up those inevitable dirty splashes.

FIRST AID KIT

You never know when you will need one of these, there’s always the danger of cutting yourself on sharp scrap or getting pierced by a hook.
